First, a couple more views of the rendering we whipped up for the
committee.
The old foundation- 1850s
Excavation begins.
Framing is underway.
Oops. ran out of housewrap- now we will have to do it from ladders :-(
All headers are thermally broken with insulation.
TGI's ready to go up.
Time to install fiber-cement siding
Siding just about finished.
Rough electric, plumbing, HVAC, Bio-based 501 insulation, drywall and painting are complete.

And move inside to do the finish work. Here we have reclaimed a
bowling alley from a bar on Brady St. in Milwaukee to make a countertop
for the cabinetry.
A shot of the E. side- tilework, cabinetry, trim, etc. We will
get a good pic. of the concrete countertop Fairways Builders made up
and donated to the project- it is quite cool.
Paul Servais' custom bookshelves.
Finish stairs.
We reworked some pews to make shelving for upstairs.
Some custom barn-style storage doors we had Steve Malnory make for the project- .
In the homestretch now- just need to complete the gutters, decking,
install a wheelchair access ramp, and attach some metal access doors to
the basement.
Wheelchair ramp underway...
"airing porch" completed
Custom concrete countertops by Fairways Builders group donated- they look fantastic!
Complete with old farm hardware inlays
